Hello, my name is Tomás Clara and portrait painting is my passion.

I was born in Lisbon, grew up in Santarém and, after secondary school in the capital, I graduated in architecture. A period in Milan on Erasmus and seven years in Barcelona, ​​where I began painting, enriched my career. I returned to Portugal in 2016, lived in Lisbon and Ericeira, and today I live in Caldas da Rainha with my family.

My professional experience in the creative industries is diverse, namely in graphic design, architecture, 3D modeling, 3D printing and textile printing – areas that complement my artistic vision.

I create portraits from your photographs. The price varies depending on the technique, material, size and number of people portrayed.

Although my approach is intuitive, I value your ideas and feedback to ensure that the commission meets your expectations. My goal is to create pieces of art that establish a direct emotional connection with you, thus immortalizing special moments, through a spontaneous process, usually with vibrant and colorful brushstrokes.

Each painting is a discovery, an unknown, which is revealed with each step. The motivation lies in the process itself, in a constant search to capture the essence and unexpected details that make each person unique.

This spontaneous approach results in canvases full of movement and life. The painting develops naturally, without rigid planning. Composition and colours are also discovered during creation, thus giving each work a unique and flexible character.
